Maps of Secret Worlds

Doing the backstroke against the current in a jet-stream dream, Gig Spratley and Jack Waltrip take us on a miasmic journey of micro-monolithic musical and visual proportions– the music of fiercely falling stars, of sky monsters transforming into flying saucer mushrooms, of tuned spheres exploding into a melancholy world somewhere out in space, perhaps only this inner space. A world lonely yet transcendent, inhabited for the most part by benevolent aliens bobbing asteroids peaceful victorious, Spratley (vocals, guitar, songwriter, art, visuals) sings like an imprisoned angel, bruised in her room, strumming to the planets, whimsically wishing for her one true love. Waltrip (guitar, keyboards, EWI, songwriter, visuals) is a bona fide harmonic shredder, compositions equal parts shiny progressive tribal and lo-fi with a sentimental yet ominous jag. In a weary world, the music and visual contributions by this dynamic duo is so positively dreamy and valuable.
